RKM Update: Power/Blizzard 3/13/18 – 1:15 PM

Current Conditions Provincetown/Truro: Blizzard conditions. Winds gusting as high as 65 mph will cause whiteout conditions in blowing snow. Significant drifting of the snow is likely. Total snow accumulations of 15 to 20 inches, with localized amounts around 22 inches, are expected by the end of this evening.

Nor Easter 3/13/18

Travel: Travel will be very dangerous to impossible. 1 to 3 inch per hour snowfall rates at times.

Power: Currently all power is out in Provincetown and roughly 1000 Truro residents are out ( 27%). No estimate on restoral is available at this time.

RKM offices: Closed until Wednesday March 14 at 8 AM.

Snow removal: Removal services will commence early Wednesday and will continue thru Thursday with occupied residents being a priority. The snow has great weight weight due to heavy moisture and will take time to move from our customer’s sites. As is the case with all storms of this nature excessive snow rates will apply due to multiple clearings and time/labor associated with clearing.

Auto: RKM services snow removal for customers that are on auto recurring only. We staff based on volume which leaves little resource for adhoc clearing requests – that said we do plan to try and accommodate those few additional requests from our annual customers once our committed deliveries are met.

After Storm Checks: After storm checks will more than likely continue thru Late Friday or possibly Saturday.

If you are in the eye of this Nor Easter please stay safe.
